Catarina & João’s intimate home-made wedding in the Douro Valley

Catarina & João’s wedding day was a very special one. At the beginning of September, on a warm summer morning, we met with the couple at one of their family member’s properties – Casa da Capela. Their entire wedding, from the flowers planted for the ceremony to the catering, was organised by them, their friends and family. The whole day felt like a meeting between old friends and we couldn’t have felt more welcomed by everyone. The day started cloudy but the sun made an appearance in the afternoon, which made the pool side cocktail party shine. The candlelit dinner by the house’s facade was filled with friends’ speeches and familiar laughter, giving it an old Hollywood movie feel. Catarina and João requested film in addition to the digital photos, which matched their whole vibe perfectly.
